Medical Receptionist – Part Time

To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional manner.

Duties Include:

When required opening and closing the surgery
Answering the telephone
Dealing with queries
Booking appointments
New patient registrations
Processing prescriptions (EPS)
Scanning/Coding
Ensuring all patients computer notes are up to date
Summarising (Training will be given if needed)
Referrals (Training will be given if needed)
As we are a small surgery, it is very important staff are able to extend their knowledge and skills, in order to complete other tasks. Experience is beneficial, however full training will be given.

Entry Requirements:

Knowledge of Emis

Knowledge of Docman

Knowledge of E-Referral System (C&B) (Preferred but not essential)

Level 2/3 in Medical Administration (AMSPAR)

Medical Terminology (AMSPAR)

A good understanding of IT

GCSE English & Maths – Grade C or above
