Prescription Information

How do I order my repeat prescription?

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:

  • Requesting a repeat prescription through your local pharmacy order and collect service.
  • In person or by post. For our practice address, please visit our Contact Us page
  • Using our online services, Patient Access:

We have a computerised repeat prescription service. Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor or nurse practitioner will decide who can have a repeat prescription. From time to time we will ask you to see your doctor or nurse practitioner to review your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and medication.

If you are using the repeat prescription slip with your prescription, you will need to tick the items that you need to order on the slip. You will then need to bring that slip to the surgery allowing 48 hours for collection/completion. Alternatively you may post your repeat prescription slip with a stamped self addressed envelope and we will post it back to you. Remember if you do this please allow a few days for the post.

Unfortunately we cannot take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions because of the possibility of error.

Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a NHS service that allows us to send your prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy. This paper-free prescription service means that you do not have to come into the surgery to collect your prescription.

We encourage all patients to register for this free service.

To nominate a pharmacy, please contact them directly or speak to a Receptionist who will be happy to nominate your chosen Pharmacy on your behalf.

If you’re a patient you can find more about electronic prescriptions on the NHS Choices website.
